Expressing Your Self Through Orchestra And Bands

by Ora Scott

Songs and music has always been part in every culture and in every person's life and has been present even during those ancient civilizations. Many have used their passion for music to express themselves through joining orchestra bands, composing different kinds of songs, or performing as a singer.

Bands and orchestras have some similarities because both can be played in a concert setting and they mostly have the same musical instruments. The big different that they have is that a band does not use string instruments like violin, oboe, or cello.

Orchestras are known to have a huge arrangement of instruments and are divided in to four sections. These sections are the brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion. Chamber orchestras are what you call those that have less than fifty musical instruments while you call those with a hundred or more symphony orchestras.

They are mostly associated with playing symphonic music from great composers like Bach, Mozart, Handel, and Vivaldi. However, there are also times when they would play a wide variety of songs. They can collaborate with a rock band or a pop artist to make a wonderful rendition of a modern song.

Becoming a part of these groups especially orchestras is something that needs a lot of preparation because of the tough competition that one has to face just to get hired. There are many people who would vie for even one spot so it is better if one can start preparing for it when he is still a child.

One of the most important things that one should do to become successful in this kind of career is constant practice. You have to do this so that playing any excerpt would be as effortless as breathing. Confidence is also another thing that you would need. You can develop this by presenting in a lot of events so you can get used to a huge crowd.

Getting inside orchestra bands maybe a hard thing to do but the benefits are worth it once you will succeed. Only a few people are paid just to do what they love to do. This also gives you a chance to be in different places or meet people that famous and influential.
